Vijay Khare & Amit Sinha | Dr. Vijay S. Khare is Senior Professor & Head. Department of Defence and Strategic Studies (DDSS). Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). Dr. Khare was awarded the Fulbright-Nehru Fellowship by USA and Erasmus Fellowship by the European Commission. He was also awarded Partial Fellowship by the United Nations University. Tokyo. Japan. Dr. Khare was selected for the United Nations Short Course on "Hologrammatic Terrorism" United Nations. Dr. Khare received his Post-Doctoral Fellowship from the University Grants Commission (UGC), and Social Scientist award for the research work under the Indo- French Social Scientist Exchange Programme at the Foundation Maison des Sciences de l`Homme. Paris. His areas of expertise are national security, non-traditional security, terrorism and counter- terrorism, peace and conflict resolution, human rights, internationalization of higher education and Ambedkar Studies. Colonel Amit Sinha is a seasoned military officer with over 27 years of service in the Indian Army. He joined the Indian Military Academy in 1994 and was commissioned into the Corps of Signals in 1995. With a B.Tech. in Telecommunication Engineering and Information Technology from Jawaharlal Nehru University and an M.Tech. in Lasers and Electro-optics from the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, he possesses a strong academic background. Colonel Sinha has commanded an Electronic Warfare Company in the Western Sector and a Corps Engineering Signal Regiment in the Eastern Sector providing communications during intense counter-insurgency operations in Nagaland and Manipur. He has also served as Head (Communications) at the Research Centre Imarat and contributed to the development of the Army’s integrated communications network. Colonel Sinha’s research interests lie in Artificial Intelligence and its application to national security, which he explored during his one-year research scholar program at Savitribai Phule Pune University. His findings are published in the book Artificial Intelligence and National Security. Currently, he is commanding a Divisional Provost Unit in East Sikkim. |
