Asia-Pacific has become the pivot of the global politics. This trend is bound to swell in foreseeable future. Indian profile has rapidly increased since last two decades and now India has been considered as an important country to shape the power equilibrium within Asia-Pacific. The security architecture is also changing in the region and in this prevailing scenario India has the golden opportunity to maximize its national interests. The sudden rise of China in the region and its divergences of interest with India and many other important countries within the region have further complicated the situation.
