India-Africa relations have intensified across a range of sectors as a consequence of the India Africa Forum Summit process. Since India opened new diplomatic missions in Africa to expand its footprint, it has engaged African countries on global issues such as climate change and health and worked to promote mutually beneficial trade and investment relationships. Over the years, developmental cooperation between India and Africa has expanded and now India is considered a major partner for African states. Besides, there is scope to deepen people-to-people contacts by promoting sports, tourism, and media-related ties. This book is a compilation of the themes (mentioned below) and attempts to offer a platform for a candid exchange of views.
This book is an attempt to bring together academia, strategic thinkers, and policy makers from India and African countries to discuss and evaluate India’s partnership with Africa in various sectors and explore new emerging areas of cooperation to further strengthen India-Africa ties. This book primarily focuses on six themes related to India and Africa— Enhancing cooperation on global Issues, Indian Diaspora in Africa: Role and their contribution, Agenda 2063 and taking Stock of India-Africa development partnership, India-Africa cooperation on maritime security, Deepening people-to-people Connect between India and Africa, Enhancing India-Africa trade and investment linkages, India-Africa cooperation for security, stability and sustainability: Energy, Environment, Food and Health Security and recent developments: IAFS-IV and the Way Forward.
This book also emphasises on various contemporary issues of India-Africa relationship and its orientation in contemporary times. Together, eminent experts of the domain, foreign policy officers, senior professors, research scholars, and students, have met the objectives that focus on how to deliberate on the significance and importance of India-Africa partnerships.

Prof (Dr) Nagalaxmi M Raman & Dr Neha Sinha

Prof. Dr. Nagalaxmi M Raman, is working as a Professor, Director and Head, Amity Institute of International Relations, running Ph.D. (IR); MA (IR) and BA IR (Hons/ Research) programmes. Successfully executed 8 National and International Projects funded by various agencies namely, BMGF, Leverhulme Trust, UK, DBT -GoI, USAID. National Centre for Cold Chain Development (NCCD), Ministry of Agriculture: Produced specific protocols for 23 fruits and vegetable crops for post-harvest management and cold chain management. Executed Consultancy Project with World Bank . Trained 1507 farmers in Uttar Pradesh through KVKs and NGOs (3 districts– Bulandshahar, Ghaziabad and Gautam Budh Nagar) Trained 237 women farmers in North East Region, Manipur, India under the project. Has Teaching/Research and Administrative experience of 33 years. Prof. Raman specializes in India’s Foreign Policy, Political Science, Public Administration, International Relations, Public Policy Analysis, HRM, International Political Economy, Globalization, Research Methodology.

She is a recipient of Exemplary Leadership in Education, Outstanding Professor for Holistic Development of Students by World Education Leaders Summit & Awards 2021. She is member of academic journals ISA, International Political Science Association, IIPA, ICWA, IPSA, and Progressive Horticulture. She is in the various Editorial Committees Board of national and international journals. She has authored/co-authored six books, 25 research papers, 14 training manuals and delivered many platform presentations at the National and International levels. Prof Nagalaxmi has published an edited book in the 2022 titled Reimagining South Asia: Multilateralism in the Contemporary Times, by Pentagon Press LLP.

Dr. Neha Sinha works as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Delhi. Dr. Sinha is a Fellow with the Center Policy Research and Governance. She has worked as an Assistant Professor-II at the Amity Institute of International Studies, AUUP. Dr. Sinha has worked as a Research Fellow with the Indian Council of World Affairs, and as an Associate Fellow with the Vivekananda International Foundation.

She is in the Editorial Committee Board of Africa Review, an interdisciplinary academic journal of ASA, India. She has pursued her B.A. and M.A. in Political Science from Miranda House, DU. She has completed her MPhil and PhD. from the Center for African Studies, SIS, JNU. Dr. Sinha has published an edited book Synergising India-Africa Relations: Now and Beyond Covid-19 Pandemic. Her areas of expertise – Political Science, Diaspora Studies, Migration, African Region, IR and Foreign Policy
